Frequently Asked Questions
What type of students do you work with and where do they go to college?
Students with whom Tina has worked run the gamut from students applying to the most competitive schools to students who have not thrived thus far in the classroom. Thus the range of colleges to which students have been admitted is broad.
Do you have a particular philosophy in working on the college admissions process with students?
It is all about the “fit.” The “best” school in a list of rankings may not be the best school for you.
How much should parents be involved in the college admissions process?
Parents are an important part of the college admissions process. Although Tina will try to help the “helicopter” parent hold back, she will also encourage the participation of parents who have a “hands off” philosophy. Ultimately, the decision will be a family decision, with the student being the focus of the decision. The amount of involvement will vary.
Where do your students come from?
Tina’s clients tend to contact CollegeChoice after a word of mouth recommendation. Geographically they are primarily in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey, but with technology at the core of our lives, students have used Tina’s services from as far as California! FaceTime and Skype are standard ways of communication.
