Recommendation for Tina Heiman & College Choice
I was about to pull my hair out trying to figure out how to help my daughter navigate the complicated college selection process. I had known Tina for many years and admired that she possessed great knowledge of college admissions and experience working with students. I also appreciated that she is compassionate, supportive, thorough, and highly ethical.
Tina guided us every step of the way, through helping us in raising SAT scores, preparing personal statements and essays, identifying schools to visit, and coordinating the application submission process. With Tina’s support, my daughter was accepted into many wonderful schools and honors programs.
My daughter recently graduated from college. We had not even considered this college until Tina recommended it. It was like Tina knew the exact fit for her! Thanks to Tina, my daughter enjoyed a wonderful 4 years at an amazing school where she truly blossomed as a scholar and an adult.

Guiding your kid through the college admissions process can be supremely anxiety inducing. Everything from selecting schools from a seemingly endless collegiate landscape to assisting in the brutal application process challenges even the most confident of parents. Add your kid’s wish to attend school on the other side of the continent and you may need a prescription for Xanax.
Acknowledging our limited ability to help our daughter navigate this complex process, my wife and I searched the internet for assistance. We spoke with a few educational planners but were most encouraged by our communication with Tina Heiman of College Choice. She provided the clearest and most affirmative answers to our questions and quickly created a beautifully designed plan of action. Most importantly, however, she established a strong rapport with our daughter, whose confidence was greatly buoyed by Tina’s assistance with college selection, application preparation and visit scheduling.

As a junior at Claremont High School in Southern California, all I knew was that I wanted to go to a small liberal arts college somewhere near Philadelphia. I knew of schools like Haverford and Swarthmore, but when Tina recommended Muhlenberg, a college I had never heard of in Allentown, Pennsylvania, I figured I really had nothing to lose. So I applied. Once I compiled my list, Tina helped groom me into the best possible candidate for each of my schools. I sent her drafts of each of my supplements and she would send them back with comments and corrections. Without Tina, I would have been lost.
About 10 months later, I was on the east coast desperately searching for the campus that would give me that “gut” feeling. I had visited the others – they simply weren’t doing it for me. But Tina assured me that she had a hunch about Muhlenberg. I doubted her, but after touring the campus, I had to admit that she was absolutely correct. I have no idea how she knew, but this school has been everything I hoped it would be and I owe my collegiate happiness to Tina Heiman. Through an unending series of supportive emails and even a few encouraging phone calls from all the way across the country, Tina managed to match me with my ideal school. I was incredibly lucky to have benefited from her uncanny wisdom; any student on the hunt for the ideal school should seriously consider utilizing Tina’s skills to help sift through the endless stream of college brochures and emails. If there is a gem amongst them, she will help you find it.
